The Scelles Foundation is part of “Manhattan Murals for Freedom” against Child Sex Trafficking and Labor,
organized by Street Art for Mankind with the French Permanent Mission to the UN.
“Manhattan Murals for Freedom” is a multidimensional artistic and digital concept with paintings, app, public march, interactive exhibition, olfactory experience, involving survivors, artists, public and private partners, institutional representatives, schools, and general public, to denounce and combat sex trafficking and labor of children.
17 famous street artists from all over the world will create unique wall paintings, based on the true stories of child victims. The replicas will be exposed with more arts work at the UN during the “UN-JI” Exhibition.

The artists will be painting children stories on murals of the Lower Manhattan, to spread the word. This will mark the official launch of SAM’s “Freedom Murals” across the world. They invite you to see the terrible conditions of children in this situation and provide us with a message of hope imagining for us what their lives should have been.
The Scelles Foundation will have a mural painted by the street artist Victor Ash, about a victim of sex trafficking, Melanie Thompson.

2. AN AUGMENTED REALITY APP TO DENOUNCE CHILD SLAVERY
Every mural is associated to a free Augmented Reality app, “Behind The Wall” to enable you access to a richer content but also enjoy the walk with an audio guide.

3. MEET NAD GREET WITH PROMINENT ARTISTS

The street event launch will be organized in South of Manhattan in the Financial District, where you will walked and stopped to look each wall featuring an inspiring painting of a child, as a tribute to an unknown hero, a child who survived sex trafficking or forced labor around the world.

4. AN INTERACTIVE AND POLYSENSORIAL EXHIBITION IN THE UN
|
The “Manhattan Murals for Freedom” replicas will be at the center of the “UN-JI” Exhibition at the United Nations headquarters and thanks to technology, you will access remotely the same content and audio guide as the one available from the street murals. The interactive and olfactory exhibition will immerse you in a “Street Art Jungle” where you will have to find your path to become a change maker. Through the journey, you will discover 30 street art paintings made by 17 prominent street artists from all around the world, and unlock clues using your senses and the augmented reality app "Behind The Wall". This immersive journey might change your vision of sex trafficking and labor of children. |
